Hello everyone, my name is Hossain Muhaymin. I am from New York City and I am a senior at Boston College majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Management & Leadership. While I was born in the United States, I grew up in a poor country, where I saw firsthand what poverty looks like, which is why I have always had the urge to help those in need.
BackgroundBack in 2020, a video went viral on social media that displayed children dying due to malnutrition. It was very hard to see and as a college student, I couldn’t make any valuable monetary contributions. I realized that, like myself, there are many others out there who want to help but lack the financial means to do so. So I reinvented an idea to generate money for donations.
ObjectiveThe primary goal of this initiative is to allow those who lack financial resources to make monetary contributions to charity to donate with their time.
The InitiativeI started a YouTube channel that would generate ad revenue and all of it would be donated to charity. I started making videos and uploading them on a regular basis. I started doing research to learn how to optimize titles for better reach and how to retain viewers.
While it was a difficult process, it was all worthwhile when I was monetized on YouTube with over 1000 subscribers within a month of starting the account.
Next steps...I realized I needed to expand so I made a web application for visitors to learn about the mission. Currently, my goal is to build an application that would generate revenue directly from the application itself, which would also increase the number of revenue streams. This application would be one of a kind for its purpose.
To make this new initiative a reality, I will require the assistance of a programmer, treasurer, and social media manager who is committed to the same cause as Donate4Free.
The video contents often are vlogs and fun-fact videos. Occasionally, I upload contents from my subscribers and credit them to promote their work, while earning revenue for donation.
